Welcome to Whisky Run Golf Club!
Whisky Run Golf
Club is a picturesque 27-hole golf course located
near the shores of Lake Erie, just east of Port Colborne, ON. A friendly,
courteous staff, modest green fees, good course conditioning, and a
relaxing clubhouse atmosphere have made Whisky Run one of the area's most
popular courses. Whisky Run GC was selected by Teeing It Up NIAGARA as a
Niagara Hidden Gem in the 2003 Niagara Golf Awards.
In 2002, Whisky Run GC was selected as Niagara's Most Improved Course in
Teeing It Up NIAGARA'S Niagara Golf Awards.
Fox
Course
The Fox
Course (1992) offers scenic vistas from atop the sand dunes along Lake
Erie. Stands of mature trees and strategically placed ponds and bunkers on
each of the first five holes can cause a lot of grief, but then the course
opens up a bit to some great driving holes. Pars do not come easily on
this, the most popular of the courses at Whisky Run.
Serpent
Course
An
aerial view of the Serpent Course explains its name - the expansive
serpent-shaped pond comes into play on 5 different holes on this gently
rolling, links-style nine. The prevailing SW breeze off Lake Erie is
almost always a factor and will make for a few treacherous shots where
there is little room to err.
Owl
Course
The Owl
Course (1989), the original nine, is an "executive" layout lined with
mature red pine, black walnut and pin-cherry trees. Reachable par-4's
tempt long hitters to go for the green, but errant tee shots are severely
penalized. There is no water on this nine, but trees define every fairway
and surround each green. A good test of one's iron and short games.
Great
Pride - Real Value
Once
you have played at Whisky Run GC, we know you'll be back. Weekday /
weekend green fees, power carts, club rentals, pro-line equipment and
memberships are available at reasonable prices. Course superintendent,
Hank Nieuwland, and the groundskeeping crew take great pride in their work
and that commitment shows itself in the great conditioning of the golf
course.
